Detailed Information
This is the pixhawk differential airspeed sensor kit which is a high resolution, low offset digital pressure sensor, making this a very accurate airspeed sensor for your pixhawk/px4 fixed wing autopilot. This airspeed sensor does not suffer drom noise caused by long cables, or from the offsets caused by the ratio-metric outputs of the older analog APM airspeed sensor.
This airspeed sensor is uses the Measurement Specialties 4525DO sensor, which is cabable of measuring speeds up to 100m/s (223 mp/h, or 360km/h). The measurement resolution is 0.84 Pa. The pressure data is delivered at 14 bit from a 24bit delta-sigma ADC. A built in temperare sensor allows calculation of the true airspeed from the indicated airspeed using the MS5611 static pressure sensor on the Pixhawk/ PX4. The new digital airspeed sensor is not influenced by the heat of nearby processing components, it is much closer to the air temperature than with previous analog sensor setups.
This airspeed sensor is supported on all Pixhawk and PX4 autopilot generation boards, this kit comes with M3 / 6-32 mounting holes. You dont need to use an airpseed sensor if you are flying a multicopter, as its only used with the arduplane fixed wing code.
The airpseed sensor kit connects to the I2C hub on pixhawk 1 and pixhawk 2 boards. However on pixhawk 2 boards you will need a JST-GH connector as this unit ships with a connector for pixhawk v1 boards only.
